WINGED VICTORY SCULPTURE (Marrickville)
Recommissioned for the Anzac Centenary in 2015, the Winged Victory Sculpture was originally erect in front of Marrickville Town Hall in 1919. The construction of Nike, the winged-goddess of victory, was to commemorate more than 450 Marrickville residents who died in World War 1. While the pose has been slightly altered the message of the stature remains as strong as ever.
