Nabo is the social network for your suburb connecting neighbours in over 8,700 communities across Australia.

Nabo Members Top 5 Posts in August

Thanks for being a supportive bunch of community minded members. This month has been great for the team at Nabo to see how everyone has really looked to help out their community with the various challenges life throws at us or just simply making the neighbourhood a little better.

We've seen lots of great examples this month so we've expanded the number of posts to a Top 6 :).

We're constantly inspired by all of the creative ways people use Nabo and we hope this inspires more of you to help, post, thank and reply and use Nabo to create stronger connections with your neighbours.

P.S. If you've seen a great post that you think would look good in next month's blog, post a link in the comments 😁

Bunny seeks Human

We are always looking to connect neighbours and in this case one of our furry neighbours lost their human friend. Suzi from NSW has been on the case and is actively looking to help reunite two 'long lost' friends. It's only happened over the past few days but this is clearly a great example of how to look after even the smaller members of our neighbourhoods :)

Is this the Nabo Community of the Month?

Nabo member Chris has an elderly neighbour who has needed help getting rid of some long hairs on her chin. Chris had been helping her neighbour do this for a while but the process was becoming too painful for her neighbour. Chris reached out on Nabo to find a better way and got some helpful responses but one particularly stood out.

Samantha offered to help and not only is she a stay at home mum but she has 14 years experience as a beauty therapist. Samantha also offered to use her supply of beauty products as well as do the entire process at the elderly neighbour's home so she didn't have to move too much. Even more amazingly, it's all for free.

Thanks to everyone in that community - such a great result and lots of people helping each other.

Nabo full of Pet Detectives

Daisy had already been having a tough week when she went missing. Recently diagnosed with dementia and already blind and deaf, she naturally went missing but thanks to a few of Amanda's neighbours who went into Pet Detective mode, they managed to find Daisy pretty quickly, much to the relief of Amanda (and probably Daisy :)).

Coles Mini Collectables

Australia has been going crazy for the Coles Mini Collectables range and we have seen many posts on Nabo this month with neighbours trading the collectables in the hopes to collect the full selection of collectables. From what we can tell, Oak Chocolate Milk, Kiwi polish and Mount Franklin water appear to be the most ‘rare’ and in-demand collectables.

Book lovers connect for national book week

This month Aussies all over the country celebrated national book week and we saw a huge spike in local events celebrating with local libraries and community book clubs all getting in on the action and sharing their love of books.

Generous donations always welcome

Every day Nabo members are giving away various items to their Nabo community as donations and this month was no different when local member Stephen reached out to his community in the hope to find a charity or local womens shelter who would accept his generous donation 30-40 sets of ladies pyjamas.

It's likely that if you have too much of one item, there will be people who want (or need) the same thing so please post up on Nabo if you're looking for something to buy or you have plenty of items you can sell or giveaway. With spring coming its a great idea to do a clean out of old items.

We hope these provide some ideas and inspiration for your own Nabo neighbourhoods.

Geoff and Katie from Nabo.
