Nabo is the social network for your suburb connecting neighbours in over 8,700 communities across Australia.

Nabo Volunteers Month

This month, Volunteering Australia and Nabo will be celebrating National Volunteer Week from 21 to 27 May. With this in mind, we decided May should be Volunteers Month and to celebrate all the Nabo members who love their local community by volunteering or supporting local groups and organisations.

We want to recognise all the amazing work you do, as well as give you a platform to talk about the organisation (or organisations!) that you care about. To do this, Nabo will be running a competition with the winner receiving $500 in funding from Nabo!

  1. Create a post with #NaboVolunteer in the title. This part is important! Use the hashtag and no spaces, otherwise me might not see your post.
  2. Tell us in 50 words or less, who you volunteer with, what their goals are for the community and how they’d spend an extra $500 in funding (!!!).

Why $500? Because that’s how much Nabo will donate to THREE organisations, starting from next Monday. Plus, Nabo will write and promote an article on your organisation to highlight all the amazing ways they contribute to the community.

In order to win, your charity must be registered with the Australian Charity and Non-Profit Commission, or be official recognised by another organisational body.

We're also supporting the Westpac Foundation's Grants program which have 200 grants worth $10,000 each available. Make sure you enter by 8 June 2018!

We hope you all get involved in nominating or talking about what you (or others) do for our communities so that we can encourage more people to get involved.
