Winter Activities in the Eastern Suburbs

Just because it's winter, it doesn't mean your only options are snuggling in bed with Netflix or a book! There are plenty of fun things to do to get your blood circulating in the East this winter - just don't forget a jumper!

VISIT VAUCLUSE HOUSE (Vaucluse)

Travel back in time with a visit to the quaint and pristine Vaucluse House. The memorialised estate is a feast for your eyes with its Gothic style and Victorian gardens. You'll get a dose of history too, with the free guided tour offering an intriguing look into the history of the house, as well as dishing out some interesting tidbits about the family who owned the house in the 19th century. After the tour, unwind with high tea in the 1920s style garden tearooms.

Why not catch a period flick from Hollywood's golden age to get the full experience? The cinema also hosts special events year-round, so be sure to check their website to see what's upcoming at the Ritz.

BONDI TO COOGEE COASTAL WALK (Bondi)

Winter has got to be the perfect time to do the Bondi to Coogee coastal walk. The weather is usually very cold so you don't have to worry about sweating too much, baking in the sun or getting too dehydrated (as long as you bring water). There may be biting winds, but if you're lucky and plan your walk for a cold and sunny day, the sun will warm you up in no time. May to November is also the perfect time to go whale watching and luckily, Marks Park, the best spot for this activity, is on the coastal walking trail. So what're you waiting for? Throw on a jacket, grab a bottle and get those legs moving.
